Officially, the 1971-1989 Mercedes-Benz SL/C has never been coded W107 (W is for Wagen) like its sedan counterparts or even past SLs (W113 Pagoda or W198 I/II 300SL). But the MB community have adopted the W107 to simplify things. The official codes were R107 for the SL (R is for Roadster) and C107 for the SLC (C is for Coupe).
