La Ronde has been a huge part of most Montrealers' lives growing up.. Minirail The Minirail used to be a lot bigger and featured 3 different circuits and 2 types of trains. The blue train crossed over onto Notre-Dame Island but ceased operating in 1973. The yellow train ran on Saint-Helens Island and ceased operatin gin 1981.

The ride is one of the few remaining attractions from the Expo 67 world's fair which took place on the La Ronde site. The La Ronde Yellow Minirail is also on Saint Helen's Island, but was completely separate from the rest of the system. It circles the amusement park, and its 1.3-mile (2.1 km) route also passes the Marina and runs in between Dolphin Lake and the Saint Lawrence River. It continues to operate to present day, albeit on a slightly modified route.
